Na noite em que o prêmio mais importante da música britânica completa 30 anos, o grande nome do Brit Awards 2010 é de uma norte-americana de 23 anos. Em cerimônia realizada nesta terça-feira (16) no Earls Court, em Londres, Lady Gaga levou os três trofeus a que concorria na categoria destinada a estrangeiros e se destacou numa hegemonia feminina que liderava as indicações com três nomeações cada: Lily Allen, Pixie Lott e Florence & The Machine.

Lady Gaga levou os prêmios de melhor cantora, melhor disco por "The Fame" e artista revelação, todos eles dedicados a artistas de fora do Reino Unido. A última vez que um grupo ou artista não britânico conseguiu três estatuetas foi em 2005, quando o Scissor Sisters foi o grande vencedor.


As favoritas Lily Allen (que já anunciou que vai se afastar da música por "pelo menos um ou dois anos") e Florence & The Machine levaram apenas um prêmio cada, dos três a que concorriam. A primeira foi eleita a melhor cantora e a segunda fez o melhor disco por "Lungs". Pixie Lott foi embora de mãos vazias.
